Old Line Paranormal
A recent stay at this hotel was quite eventful. During the night (about 1:15 am), I felt the corner of my bed sink - like someone of substantial size sat on the corner. It was enough to cause my body to roll toward the edge of the bed. When I opened my eyes, the bed lifted again back to its normal position. At that point, I was startled and quite awake. Almost immediately, I felt something caress my forehead - just like you do when you are consoling a sick child (from the corner of the eye toward the top of the head). That touch was followed by the hair standing up on my left leg - the feeling you get when a balloon full of static electricity approaches your hair and makes it stand up (not to be confused with goose-bumps, which I did not have). The remainder of the night was filled with the clanking of wooden hangers in my closet, almost every time I dozed off. This happened on the 5th floor.
I happen to be with a group of people. And although I only told the story to two individuals, I later found out that another group member had a similar experience: someone sitting on the edge of the bed, which was followed by being touched from the waist toward the feet - a fast slide of the hand. This person did witness an apparition of a small boy, wearing a striped shirt, with a bloody head. This happened on the 6th floor.

My wife and I recently stayed at this same hotel this week on July 10, 2024. We were on the 6th floor I believe. I was awoken in the middle of the night not sure what to. However over the next hour to two where I could not fall asleep, there were times where I felt extreme cold and heat all over my body. I also had a sense of paralysis where I could not move my body. During that time I felt as if my body was hovering and spinning even though I was flat on the bed. I did not see anything however had the sense that something or someone was in the room. When my wife woke up in the morning I told her I had a crappy night of sleep. Before explaining what happened she told me when she was falling asleep, anytime she closed her eyes a woman was having a seizure. I asked if she could recall what the woman was wearing but she was unable to. The only way to get rid of the image for her was praying. This was a weird and spooky stay for us. Not sure if I will stay the night in Gettysburg again. Also if I remember correctly, even though my wife’s phone was plugged in over night and charging when we went to sleep, it was still plugged in but dead when we got up.

My mother, father, two daughters and I went to Gettysburg on Wednesday (3 Aug 2016) to see one of the museums there and stay at the Wyndham Gettysburg Hotel. My youngest daughter, Leah (the one OLP met when investigating our cabin last winter) and I slept in room 305 and my oldest daughter Brittany slept on the pull-out sleeper couch in my parents room which was room 313.
When we got up the next morning Brittany related that she had awoken in the middle of the night to find two ghost children (who looked about ages 6 and 7) standing near the foot of her bed. She said one of the children was a girl holding a doll and the other was a boy with a wide side part in his hair. Brittany said the clothes they were wearing were not contemporary but looked to be from possibly the Civil War era.
My daughter said when she initially saw the children she could not believe her eyes so she blinked a few times to clear her focus. Brittany said when she re-opened her eyes the children were still there. Brittany said she became so frightened at the realization she was actually seeing ghosts she could not even yell out to alert my parents. Paralyzed in fear, Brittany said she then closed her eyes tightly and started praying until she fell back to sleep. She said she did not reopen her eyes until morning when my parents got up.
My daughter is not subject to fantasy. She has a bachelors degree in biology/chemistry and is very scientifically minded. In her 29 years Brittany has not once, until this occurrence, reported seeing a ghost. I believe her 100 percent. Have you ever heard any stories of a haunting at the Wyndham Gettysburg Hotel? I know it is a new hotel so this incident really surprised me. Any insight you could give me about this incident would be very much appreciated. Needles to say, Brittany said she never wants to go back to that hotel again!
